Oh, hello there! My name is Jason Andrews. I’m a composer, songwriter and guitarist.
This is my 2002 Yamaha Road Star Warrior – 1670cc. I got it on May 26th, 2009 and absolutely love it. It’s a lot different than the Suzuki GZ-250′s I ride at work and to be honest I still need more practice on it -you can never be too safe. And yes, I wear full gear when I ride. Full-face helmet, armored jacket, boots and gloves.
The 25 Estudes Op. 60 was composed by Matteo Carcassi and is considered by many to be a collection of his most famous works. The purpose of these pieces is to blend the technical aspects of the guitar with lush Romantic Melodies. The first piece preformed, No. 3, has a brilliant, beautiful melody that carries throughout the piece. The tempo is relatively slow but overall it is a brilliant piece. No. 7 is another short piece that contrasts the first. It’s faster and carries the melody primarily through the bass line. The final piece, No. 19, is the shortest piece between the three. It offers a great, slow-moving melody in the high range of the instrument. In these pieces Carcassi was able to demonstrate the full aspect of the guitar’s potential from the fantastic melodies it can create to the expanded harmony.

I had a great band named Spacesuit Goddess, compliments of our bassist John. It consisted of me on lead guitar and vocals, John Schinelle on bass and vocals and Alex Caldwell on drums. Both John and I wrote songs constantly and we were always tried to out do the other. The titles we created for our songs were simply brilliant. Such as the songs “Magic Tuba”, “Call It What You Will” and “Milkbone”. Each, I assure you, had a completely legitimate reason [...]
For years I knew that music was something I wanted to do the rest of my life. Even in high school, with little proper training, I knew that I wanted a degree that pertained to music. Where exactly I wanted to go with it never registered until my last semester at my community college. When it hit I was looking for programs across Florida that included Music Education, Jazz Composition, Performance, etc. Finally, I came across Florida Southern College which had exactly what I was looking for: straight upMusic Composition. Since then I have come a long way and am writing music daily. Even with little experience in earlier years aside from my bands and the basics from my middle school and marching band years I knew that it was meant to be. From here on I will continue to post my views, opinions and reflections on music. Nothing else [...]
